FLOYD
COUNTY $169,500
View from one of building sites Located approximately 3 miles from the little rural village of Indian valley in Floyd County, virginia. Upon arriving in Indian Valley, your only indication that this is a town is the flag in front of the simple frame sided post office. No stoplights. You're about twenty miles from the quaint town of floyd which has one stoplight. but don't despair! You're only 30 minutes from I-81 and the Christiansburg/Blacksburg area (Montgomery County). Think Virginia Tech. In fact, Floyd County is probably the only rural county in the country with high speed internet service. The local telephone cooperative has fiber optic lines throughout the county. Go figure. Peaceful & quiet on paved county road. We count approximately 2 cars per hour or so. I realize that it sounds as if I'm trying to be funny, but I'm not. It really is that quiet. Property still has lots of trees, but some thick pine areas have been timbered in order to open up the views and provide open spaces (or food plots) for wildlife. Wildlife includes deer, bear, wild turkey, & grouse. If you're interested in flora there are lush rhododendron forests around stream areas, mountain laurel, teaberry (remember teaberry chewing gum, it smells just like that), and more lady slippers in one location than I've ever seen. Numerous excellent building sites with pastoral & mountain views.
